Why Waist Beads Are Expensive
Share
Though Waist beads have been around for centuries, they are becoming more and more popular in the U.S. Today. You'll find them in many colors, shapes, and sizes. You'll most likely find one that fits your personality. And if you don't come across one you like, you can experience the fun of creating your own in our Original Waist Bead Bar. We'll even record the packaging of your purchase for you.
Many crafters have jumped into the beading bandwagon. And that's ok because it's a fun and relaxing craft, plus there's more than enough money to go around for all of us. Though She So Confident are new to the online beading world, we are far from new to being addicted to beads and crafting in general.
But there is a point that we at She So Confident feel the need to address. As beaders, we get into the spirit of love and creation and do our best to make our customers happy and proud. However, some people think waist beads are too expensive and not worth buying. But what they don't understand is the fact that waist beads are not just about the beads. It's not just about "Stringing some beads on a piece of thread." There's much more that goes into it than just beading.
Let us break it down into details as we explain the 3 reasons why waist beads are so expensive!
Reason # 1
To build comfort and confidence in your own body.
First of all, we understand that the human brain is powerful, and once we master how to use it, we can achieve anything we want in you want in life. You can use your mind for many things like healing your body, losing weight, and changing your overall mindset. Our waist beads are special tools to help women remind themselves of their goals. They're here to act as your accountability partner, there to remind you that you are enough. Best of all, it makes you feel so good and more confident about your body instantly!
Reason # 2
The design process is harder than you think.
Beading is a very therapeutic and relaxing task. But, it can take time and be stressful at times. Looking in from the outside, it may seem too easy to do. But like everything else in life, beading is a craft you have to learn, understand, and get comfortable doing. We first think about what we'd like to bring to reality. It's also important to know and understand the purpose behind the design. We then go into the nitty-gritty and get down to designing. This part, let me tell you, is very frustrating. When your goal is to be different when creating designs, it gets even more frustrating and discouraging. Waist Beads are not just thrown together with beads and sent off to customers. That is just not how it works!
The materials are another part of the business that can put a dent in your pockets. If you don't price your bead designs correctly, you may end up getting no profits with a high possibility of going out of business. Now we can't speak for every beader here, but at She So Confident, we source the most high-quality materials we can find to create our designs. Quality is just part of who we are, and we want that to shine through our products. Some people say that beads are just beads. But, this is where the true saying comes in "You get what you pay for."
It is important to know and understand that all beads are not equal. We've tried and tested lots of beads and chosen the best for our products.
Reason # 3
The Price
Now, let's talk numbers. It's a crucial aspect when deciding how much your waist beads will be worth. Generally, waist beads are made with about 400 beads if you are making traditional ones as we do. That's 400 beads for one waist bead. Here's where it gets serious. Please keep in mind that the numbers below are based on single packs. You would have to buy way more to get discounted prices.
The beads we use are measured and sold in grams. A valid example is one pack of opaque solid color beads costs $3.04 for a tiny 7.5-gram pack. This small pack only comes with 280 beads. This amount of beads can't even make one waist bead! You will need to buy at least two to make one waist bead. That's already $6.08. Keep in mind, some waist beads are made with more than one opaque color. Take a look for yourself.
In our case, our waist beads made with 14kt gold beads costs even more to make. One bead pack costs $9.09 for only 4 grams! That's fewer beads than the first example. This 4 gram pack only comes with 140 beads. Again, this can't even make one waist bead! Take a look.
Other gold beads cost even more! These 14kt gold bead balls that we use in our waist beads are sold in a pack of 20 beads for $22.10. That's a crazy $1.10 per bead. You'll need to buy 100 + packs in order for you to get the discounted price of $13.11. That's still a crazy $0.65 per bead. Are you still asking why waist beads are so expensive!?
Hopefully, the next time you come across quality waist beads that costs a little more, or a lot more, you'll get a better understanding as to why.
